  • Prime Minister Narendra Modi today inaugurated CG Semi’s state-of-the-art Outsourced Semiconductor Assembly and Test (OSAT) plant in Sanand, Gujarat.Developed under the India Semiconductor Mission (ISM) at an investment exceeding ₹7,500 crore, the plant will produce 20 crore chips initially, scaling up to an annual capacity of 5 billion (500 crore) semiconductor chips.
    • India Semiconductor Mission (ISM):The India Semiconductor Mission (ISM) is a specialized government agency launched under the Digital India Corporation to build a robust domestic semiconductor and display ecosystem. Operating under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), it drives India's goal of becoming a global electronics manufacturing hub.
  • Modified UDAN Scheme:The Modified UDAN Scheme is a 10-year comprehensive overhaul of India’s flagship regional aviation programme, running from FY 2026-27 to FY 2035-36 with a total financial outlay of ₹28,840 crore. Officially approved by the Union Cabinet and launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi at Jodhpur Airport on 4 July 2026, this new phase pivots from simple expansion to long-term operational sustainability. It addresses critical gaps from the previous decade by ensuring infrastructure is fully functional before routes are auctioned and by providing post-launch financial cushions to regional airports.

  • Death Anniversary of Swami Vivekananda: Nation paid homage to spiritual leader and visionary Swami Vivekananda on his death anniversary.
  • 250th anniversary of the Independence of the United States (4th July 2026)-The United States is today marking the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence. The celebration of the Fourth of July honours the signing of the American Declaration of Independence by the country’s founding fathers on this day in 1776, when the 13 American colonies formally declared their independence from British rule.

  • The e-Jagriti Portal is an advanced, AI-enabled digital platform launched by the Department of Consumer Affairs, Government of India to completely digitise and streamline consumer grievance redressal across the country. Operating under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019, it serves as a central hub connecting consumers with the District, State, and National Consumer Disputes Redressal Commissions (DCDRC, SCDRC, and NCDRC). It replaces the older E-Daakhil system, offering a significantly enhanced, paperless, and user-friendly case management infrastructure.
  • LokOS: A Digital Backbone for Rural Livelihoods-Strengthening Digital Governance under Deendayal Antyodaya Yojana- National Rural Livelihoods Mission (DAY-NRLM).
    • LokOS (Lok = People, OS = Operating System) is a web and mobile platform under the Deendayal Antyodaya Yojana-National Rural Livelihoods Mission (DAY-NRLM) for end-to-end digitization of Self-Help Groups and their federations. DAY-NRLM is a flagship poverty alleviation programme promoting self-employment, skilled jobs, and sustainable livelihoods for poor rural households.
    • Digital Features of LokOS:The LokOS Mobile App empowers communities and community-based organizations by facilitating digitization and enabling enhanced data-driven decision-making. The key features include:
    • End-to-End Digital Management: Registers and manages SHGs, Village Organizations (VOs), Cluster Level Federations (CLFs), and their members.
    • Unique Digital IDs: Generates Aadhaar- and bank-linked digital identities for CBOs and members.
    • Digital Financial Records: Records savings, loans, repayments, and other financial transactions.
    • Livelihood Profiling: Captures livelihood data to support planning and convergence with government schemes.
    • Role-Based Administration: Enables user management, approvals, monitoring, and reporting from village to national level.
    • Real-Time Analytics: Provides dashboards and one-click reports for data-driven decision-making
  • SHE-LEAPS: A Digital Platform for Rural Entrepreneurship-Self-Help Entrepreneur-Livelihoods and Enterprise Application for Prosperity and Sustainability (SHE-LEAPS) was recently launched on 29th June 2026 and is implemented under the LokOS platform. It is a digital platform for empowering women associated with Self-Help Groups (SHGs) across rural India. It provides a unified platform for enterprise creation, performance tracking, and business management. It supports farm and non-farm enterprises, strengthening a sustainable and resilient rural economy.
