  • Nation salutes bravery and sacrifice of armed forces on first anniversary of Operation Sindoor-On this day last year, India launched Operation Sindoor, carrying out airstrikes on nine terror infrastructures in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir, eliminating at least 100 terrorists. It was India’s befitting response to the barbaric Pakistan-sponsored terrorist attack on the tourists in Pahalgam on the 22nd of April last year.
  • Health Ministry launches JANANI digital platform for maternal and child healthcare- JANANI is a digital platform designed to comprehensively monitor and maintain digital health records of women during their reproductive age.
  • Bihar CM Samrat Choudhary to expand his cabinet today;The cabinet led by Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary will be expanded tomorrow.
  • The Union Cabinet approved the Supreme Court (Number of Judges) Amendment Bill, 2026 to increase the sanctioned strength of the Supreme Court of India. The legislation raises the total sanctioned strength from 34 to 38 judges (comprising the Chief Justice of India and 37 puisne judges)
  • India Semiconductor Mission (ISM) 1.0: The Cabinet approved two major semiconductor manufacturing units worth ₹3,936 crore. This includes India’s first commercial Gallium Nitride (GaN) technology-based LED display facility by Crystal Matrix Limited and a packaging unit by Suchi Semicon in Gujarat.

International

  • 5th BRICS SAI Leaders’ Summit begins under theme “Ease of Living with Focus on Urban Mobility”.The two-day 5th BRICS Supreme Audit Institutions (SAI) Leaders’ Summit began in Bengaluru today under the theme “Ease of Living with a Focus on Urban Mobility". Organised by the Office of the Comptroller and Auditor General of India as part of India’s BRICS Chairmanship 2026.
