- ISRO successfully launches EOS-05 Earth Observation Satellite:The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) successfully launched EOS-05 aboard the GSLV-F17 rocket from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre, Sriharikota, Andhra Pradesh.

- Quad Sherpas’ Meeting held in New Delhi:Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri hosted a Quad Sherpas’ Meeting in New Delhi yesterday. The Ministry of External Affairs said the discussions covered key areas of Quad cooperation, including maritime and transnational security, economic prosperity and security, critical and emerging technologies, and humanitarian assistance and emergency response.The Quad most commonly refers to the Quadrilateral Security Dialogue, an informal strategic forum between Australia, India, Japan, and the United States.

- India’s Current Account Deficit (CAD) at $4.2 Billion in Q1 FY27:The News: RBI released balance of payments data showing India's CAD widened to $4.2 billion (0.5% of GDP) in Q1 FY2026–27 (April–June 2026), compared to $3.4 billion (0.4% of GDP) in Q1 FY2025–26.
- Key Drivers: An increase in the merchandise trade deficit amid geopolitical supply disruptions, partially offset by robust services exports and healthy inward remittances (reaching $42.9 billion).

- RBI Permits Urban Co-operative Banks (UCBs) to Invest in IDPIC: The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) amended the investment norms for Urban Co-operative Banks (UCBs), permitting them to acquire equity shares in the Indian Digital Payment Intelligence Corporation (IDPIC).
- Objective: IDPIC serves as a central non-profit digital intelligence hub designed to detect, monitor, and curb fraud across digital payment networks in real-time. Membership empowers cooperative banks to strengthen systemic cybersecurity and anti-fraud protocols.
