National

  • The National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD) launched the Gramodyam programme to promote rural entrepreneurship.The initiative aims to support approximately 4,000 rural entrepreneurs across the country.The programme focuses on developing rural enterprises, strengthening local economic activity and creating employment opportunities.
  • India's largest global textile event, Bharat Tex 2026, will begin tomorrow at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi. The four-day event will showcase India's growing global leadership in textiles, fashion, sustainability, technology, innovation, investment and international trade.
  • The Central Vista redevelopment area in New Delhi was renamed the Kartavya Bhawan Complex or Kartavya Bhawan Area.The renamed precinct includes multiple Kartavya Bhawans, Kartavya Marg and future government buildings in the area. The announcement was made by Union Minister Manohar Lal during the Central Public Works Department (CPWD) Foundation Day programme.
  • NIDAR 2.0: Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), in collaboration with Drone Federation India today launched the second edition of the National Innovation Challenge for Drone Application and Research (NIDAR 2.0, 2026-27) under the SwaYaan initiative.The initiative, approved in July 2022 with an outlay of nearly 90 crore rupees, builds the skilled workforce needed for India’s drone sector.NIDAR 2.0 challenges students to build smarter drones powered by an Indian-made chip. It offers a prize pool of over 65 lakh rupees along with startup incubation, cloud credits, software support and internships for student teams.
  • The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) has successfully carried out three major tests of the Gaganyaan Crew Module systems.Gaganyaan is ISRO's flagship human spaceflight program to send a crew of three astronauts to a 400-kilometer low Earth orbit for three days and safely return them to Indian waters.India's first crewed Mission Overview and Goals

  • Jurassic Park’ star Sam Neill dies at 78:New Zealand actor Sam Neill, best known for his roles in Jurassic Park and The Piano, has died at the age of 78. His family said he passed away in Sydney following a sudden and unexpected medical event.
