• Form 6: The Election Commission of India (ECI) introduced an additional declaration in the online Form 6, which is used for new voter registration.Under the revised online form, applicants are asked whether they or their parents were included in the electoral rolls prepared during the previous Special Intensive Revision (SIR).

• The Delhi government announced that the Pink Saheli Smart Card would replace the existing paper-based pink tickets used by women for free travel on Delhi government buses.The new smart-card system is scheduled to become mandatory from 1 August 2026.
• The Government of India extended the anti-dumping duty on certain seamless tubes, pipes and hollow profiles of iron, alloy or non-alloy steel imported from China.The duty has been extended until 27 January 2027.
• Anti-dumping duty is a trade-remedy measure imposed when imported goods are sold below their normal value and cause or threaten injury to domestic producers.
• Hindu Kush Himalaya Faces Climate Risks:The International Centre for Integrated Mountain Development (ICIMOD) highlighted significant climate risks in the Hindu Kush Himalaya (HKH) region.The 2026 monsoon outlook indicated the possibility of below-normal rainfall and above-normal temperatures across parts of the HKH region, with El Niño identified as one of the important climate drivers.
• HKH spans 8 countries:Countries include India, Nepal, Bhutan, China, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Bangladesh and Myanmar

• Australia to Return Three Ancient Indian Antiquities:Australia announced the repatriation of three ancient Indian artefacts to India.The artefacts include:A Bronze Trident of Goddess Bhadrakali,A Granite Nandi idol,A Basalt sculpture of six-headed Karthikeya (Shanmukha).The artefacts originated from historic temples in Tamil Nadu associated with the Chola period and had been illegally trafficked overseas. They were subsequently held by the National Gallery of Australia.
