- Opertion Delta Hunt:Gujarat Police Arrest 362 Illegal Bangladeshi Nationals Under ‘Operation Delta Hunt’.Gujarat Police has launched a strict crackdown on Bangladeshi nationals residing illegally in the state. Under Operation Delta Hunt, 362 Bangladeshi nationals living illegally in Gujarat have been arrested.
- CCPA Penalises Coaching Institute, Software Company for Dark Pattern Practices-The Central Consumer Protection Authority (CCPA) has imposed penalties on a leading coaching institute and a software company for using dark pattern practices that misled consumers and influenced their choices on digital platform.
- Dark patterns are deceptive User Interface (UI) design practices that manipulate or coerce users into making choices they never intended to make. These unethical strategies exploit cognitive biases to force unintended purchases, steal personal data, or trick users into expensive recurring subscriptions
- West Bengal Introduces Annapurna Yojana with Direct Cash Transfers to Women Beneficiaries-West Bengal’s social security scheme “Annapurna Yojana” was formally launched today at Nabanna by the Chief Minister, Suvendu Adhikari, transferring 3,000 rupees directly into the bank accounts of over 28 lakh women. It is estimated that nearly two crore women will benefit from this scheme. After every seven days the list will be updated.Women between the ages of 25 and 60 will be eligible for this benefit.
- India surpasses US in annual solar capacity additions, becomes 2nd largest solar growth market in 2025-India has surpassed the United States of America in annual solar capacity additions to become the world’s 2nd largest solar growth market in 2025.China remains at 1st position. India has crossed a remarkable 155 GW of installed solar capacity, helping achieve country’s 50% non-fossil fuel capacity target and fulfil its Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs) ahead of schedule. Flagship initiatives such as PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana are transforming lives, with over 40 lakh households already empowered through rooftop solar.
- The 73rd Plenary Session of the North Eastern Council (NEC) is being held in Shillong, Meghalaya. The apex regional planning body's meeting is chaired by Union Home Minister Amit Shah and focuses on regional connectivity, the North East Vision Plan 2047, and infrastructure development.
- The Vice-President of India, Shri C. P. Radhakrishnan, today released the book When Audit Matters: CAG Interventions That Made a Difference, edited by former Comptroller and Auditor General of India, Shri Vinod Rai, at a function held at Uprashtrapati Bhawan.
- Flex-Fuel :Union Minister Shri Nitin Gadkari Addresses the Launch of Hero MotoCorp’s First Flex-Fuel Motorcycles in New Delhi-Flex-fuel refers to a type of internal combustion engine designed to run on more than one type of fuel, or a blend of fuels. Typically, this involves using a mixture of conventional petrol and varying percentages of ethanol, such as the widely known E85 blend (85% ethanol and 15% petrol).
- Navachar Mantra:Minister for Skill Development and Entrepreneurship Jayant Chaudhary today launched Navachar Mantra, a flagship national programme in New Delhi aimed at identifying, mentoring and scaling grassroots innovators.
- Development of North Eastern Region Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia, along with Chief Minister of Assam Himanta Biswa Sarma, launched the Mission Senehjori for Assam Muga Silk. The Development of North Eastern Region Ministry said this is a comprehensive cluster-based initiative aimed at transforming Assam’s unique Muga silk sector into a globally competitive, high-value luxury textile ecosystem. The Ministry said that this mission seeks to strengthen the entire Muga silk value chain from host-plant cultivation and silkworm seed production to reeling, weaving, branding, export promotion, digital traceability and tourism.

- Venezuela’s Acting President Delcy Rodríguez arrives in India for five-day visit to India:Acting President of Venezuela Delcy Eloína Rodríguez Gómez arrived in New Delhi on a five-day visit to India. She is accompanied by a delegation comprising the Ministers of Foreign Affairs, Economy and Finance, Science and Technology, Communication and Information, and Transportation.

- India Launches UPI Payments in Cambodia Through NPCI–ACLEDA Bank Partnership-National Payments Corporation of India has officially partnered with ACLEDA Bank to launch Unified Payments Interface (UPI) acceptance in Cambodia. The Ministry of Finance said that the first phase enables millions of Indian travellers to make seamless QR payments at over 4.5 million Cambodian merchants, with a two-way corridor to follow.
- It said that the in the subsequent phase, the corridor will become fully bi-directional. Cambodian citizens visiting India will soon be able to use their domestic banking and digital payment applications to scan millions of UPI QR codes throughout India. The Ministry said that UPI is accepted in eight countries including Singapore, the United Arab Emirates, France, Mauritius, Nepal, Bhutan, Qatar and Sri Lanka.

- D K Shivakumar Sworn In as 25th Karnataka Chief Minister:In Karnataka, senior Congress leader D K Shivakumar was sworn in as the 25th Chief Minister of the state today. Governor Thaawarchand Gehlot administered the oath of office. Dr G Parameshwar, who held the Home portfolio in the Siddaramaiah Cabinet, was sworn in as Deputy Chief Minister.

- Today is World Bicycle Day. The day is celebrated annually on June 3 to acknowledge the simple, affordable, reliable and environmentally fit sustainable means of transport, fostering environmental stewardship and health.-The day was adopted through a UN General Assembly resolution spearheaded by the Government of Turkmenistan, recognising the uniqueness, longevity and versatility of the bicycle. The theme of this year is “Cycling for a Greener Future”.
- Shri V. V. S. Aiyar death Anniversary:V. V. S. Aiyar (Varahaneri Venkatesa Subramaniam Aiyar) was a pioneering Indian freedom fighter, revolutionary, and literary scholar. He is celebrated as the father of the modern Tamil short story and is remembered for his critical translations of Tamil classics, as well as his militant resistance to British colonial rule.
