  • Jammu and Kashmir : Poonch receives SKOCH Award for excellence in healthcare delivery-In a significant achievement in healthcare sector, the frontier district Poonch has been honoured with the prestigious SKOCH Award in New Delhi for its outstanding implementation of the Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB PMJAY) SEHAT scheme.
  • India has emerged as the world's leading ship recycling nation in 2025, ranking first globally. India's share of global ship recycling increased to 35.4% in 2025 from 30.1% in 2024, according to the latest report by the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD).UN Conference on Trade and Development is an intergovernmental organization within the United Nations Secretariat that promotes the interests of developing countries in the governance of international trade, financial flows and technology transfer.It's head quarters is in Geneva, Switzerland.
  • DISHA 2.0:Union Minister of State (I/C) for Law and Justice Shri Arjun Ram Meghwal has approved the continuation of the Central Sector Scheme ‘Designing Innovative Solutions for Holistic Access to Justice (DISHA)’ restructured as DISHA 2.0 for a period of five years from 1st April 2026 to 31st March 2031 co-terminus with the XVI Finance Commission cycle.Advancing the constitutional mandate of Article 39A (Free Legal Aid) and UN Sustainable Development Goal 16, DISHA 2.0 scales up technology-enabled justice delivery to target 3 crore beneficiaries over five years.DISHA 2.0 comprises of the following four components and will be implemented on a pan India scale across all States and Union Territories:
    • VIDHI-Sanjeevani: A newly introduced component featuring a centralized digital platform and an AI-powered Nyaya Setu Chatbot providing multilingual legal assistance.
    • Tele-Law: Continues pre-litigation legal advice through 2,50,000 Common Service Centres (CSCs), aided by Nyaya Sahayaks in Aspirational Blocks.
    • Nyaya Bandhu: Connects marginalized sections with pro-bono advocates and law school Pro-Bono Clubs.
    • Legal Literacy & Awareness: Drives pan-India offline and online literacy campaigns via strategic partnerships.
  • Union Home Minister and Minister of Cooperation Shri Amit Shah to launch NAFED’s auction portal ‘NAFEX.in’ in New Delhi-The portal serves as a unified digital marketplace to streamline the auction-related activities of agricultural produce like pulses and oilseeds.
  • Indian Railways has approved the deployment of Automatic Train Protection system Kavach on 631 route kilometres of East Coast Railway to enhance safety and operational efficiency.
    • Kavach is India’s indigenously developed Automatic Train Protection (ATP) system. It is designed to prevent train collisions, eliminate human errors like Signal Passing at Danger (SPAD), and automatically apply emergency brakes if a loco pilot fails to control the train's speed.

International

  • United Kingdom Prime Minister Keir Starmer has announced his resignation as Prime Minister and leader of the Labour Party, ending his tenure at Downing Street amid growing internal pressure from his own party.

  • In Kashmir Valley, the annual Mela Kheer Bhawani is being celebrated today with religious fervour and gaiety on the occasion of Jyeshtha Ashtami. This is one of the most important festivals for the Kashmiri Pandit community during which devotees offer Kheer (rice pudding), milk, flowers, and aromatic leaves to Mata Ragnya Devi. The mela symbolizes faith, resilience, cultural reconnection, and communal harmony.
