- ‘Project Ganga’ -Uttar Pradesh government today launched ‘Project Ganga’ which will ensure last-mile digital connectivity in rural areas while expanding opportunities in digital education, telemedicine, e-governance, skill development, and technology-based employment.Under Project Ganga, a comprehensive network of Digital Service Providers (DSPs) will be developed across the state.
- Government has proposed an interim budget allocation of 95,692 crore rupees to states and union territories to ensure a smooth transition from MNREGA to Viksit Bharat-Guarantee for Rozgar and Ajeevika Mission Gramin (VB-G RAM G). The Act will come into force across the country with effect from 1st of July.
- ‘Vinimay’-Union Home Minister Amit Shah inaugurated the Land Port Management System (LPMS), ‘Vinimay’, in New Delhi to digitize and streamline cargo processing and passenger movement across India’s land borders on Tuesday. The system is a digital platform designed to integrate operations across land ports into a unified system. It will enable secure, real-time exchange of logistics and regulatory information, bringing land ports on a par with digital systems already in place at airports and seaports.
- Defence Ministry clears 250 MW solar-BESS project on defence land in Uttar Pradesh-The Defence Ministry said that this is the first-of-its-kind project undertaken by the Ministry, involving the development of a large-scale solar power generation facility with integrated Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) support on defence land.
- Assam Government, EU Launch Blue Valley Cluster in Guwahati-The Government of Assam and the European Union today jointly launched the Blue Valley Cluster in Guwahati, focusing on Flavours, Fragrance and AYUSH sectors. The initiative aims to strengthen cooperation between Europe, Assam and the wider North-East region in developing sustainable value chains, innovation ecosystems and industrial partnerships.
- Prime Minister Narendra Modi is India's longest-serving continuously elected Prime Minister. He officially surpassed the previous record held by Jawaharlal Nehru by crossing 4,399 consecutive days in office. First assuming office on May 26, 2014, he secured consecutive terms in the 2019 and 2024 general elections. While Jawaharlal Nehru served for a longer total period (over 16 years from 1947 to 1964), his tenure began before the first democratic general elections were held in independent India. PM Modi's milestone specifically recognizes the longest unbroken tenure of any leader elected through consecutive democratic mandates.
- First Export of GI-Tagged Tezpur Litchi from Assam to Dubai-The Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA), under the Ministry of Commerce & Industry, facilitated the first export consignment of GI-tagged Tezpur Litchi from Assam to Dubai on 7 June 2026, marking a significant milestone in expanding international market access for agricultural products from the North Eastern Region.The Geographical Indication (GI) status has strengthened the identity and market recognition of Tezpur Litchi, enhancing its appeal among international buyers and creating new opportunities for premium agricultural exports from Assam.
- Historic Breakthrough Achieved at Zojila Tunnel Project;-Zojila Tunnel to Establish All-Weather Connectivity Between Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh; Strategic Infrastructure Push to Accelerate Regional Development, Tourism, Trade and National Security.The breakthrough marks a major milestone in India's road infrastructure development and brings the country closer to realizing year-round connectivity between Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh.

- PM Modi to Embark on 6-Day Visit to France and Slovakia on Saturday-In the first leg of the visit, the Prime Minister will visit Nice for a bilateral meeting with President Emmanuel Macron .In Nice, both leaders will also jointly inaugurate the ‘Bharat Innovates’ event, which will bring together top innovation startups and Venture Capital funds from India, France, and other countries.On the second leg of his visit, Mr Modi will pay a State Visit to the Slovak Republic . This will be the first-ever visit by an Indian Prime Minister to Slovakia since its independence in 1993.

- India observes the martyrdom day of the revered tribal freedom fighter and folk hero, Bhagwan Birsa Munda, on June 9. He passed away in Ranchi jail on June 9, 1900, at the young age of 25, leaving behind an immortal legacy of resistance against colonial oppression. Between 1899 and 1900, Birsa Munda led the historic 'Ulgulan' (The Great Tumult) rebellion against the British authorities and local oppressors.

- 10 Years of PMSMA-The Pradhan Mantri Surakshit Matritva Abhiyan (PMSMA) completed its landmark 10 years of successful implementation on June 9, 2026.Launched in 2016 by Prime Minister Narendra Modi under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, the flagship program was commemorated nationwide under the theme "10 Years of PMSMA – A Decade of Care."
- The program aims to provide assured, comprehensive and quality antenatal care, free of cost, universally to all pregnant women on the 9th of every month.
- PMSMA guarantees a minimum package of antenatal care services to women in their 2nd / 3rd trimesters of pregnancy at designated government health facilities.
- The programme follows a systematic approach for engagement with private sector which includes motivating private practitioners to volunteer for the campaign; developing strategies for generating awareness and appealing to the private sector to participate in the Abhiyan at government health facilities.
- Zoji-La Tunnel, the world's longest single-tube bi-directional road tunnel at the highest altitude, is an under-construction Himalayan tunnel in India under the Zoji La pass between Sonamarg in Ganderbal district of Jammu and Kashmir and Dras in Kargil district of Ladakh.
