  • Indian space start-up GalaxEye launches Mission Drishti-the world’s first OptoSAR satellite, aboard SpaceX’s Falcon 9 rocket from California in the United States. Weighing 190 kilograms, Mission Drishti is the largest Earth observation satellite ever built by a private Indian company.
  • North Tech Symposium-Raksha Mantri Shri Rajnath Singh will inaugurate a North Tech Symposium, on the theme ‘Raksha Triveni Sangam - Where Technology, Industry & Soldiering Converge', in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh on May 04, 2026. The three-day event is being jointly organised by the Northern Command & Central Command of the Indian Army and the Society of Indian Defence Manufacturers (SIDM).
  • RBSK 2.0 Guidelines-In a significant step towards strengthening child health services in the country, the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare released the Rashtriya Bal Swasthya Karyakram (RBSK) 2.0 Guidelines at the recently concluded National Summit on Good Practices and Innovations in Public Healthcare Service Delivery.The updated framework reinforces and broadens the established 4Ds approach – Defects at Birth, Diseases, Deficiencies and Developmental Delays, while incorporating new-age health challenges including non-communicable diseases, mental health conditions, and behavioural concerns.

International

  • OPEC+ countries agree in principle to raise oil output targets for June amid West Asia conflict-Amid the ongoing West Asia conflict, the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC +) have agreed in principle to raise oil output targets for June. According to the cartel’s statement released after its first virtual meeting on Sunday.
  • Thousands evacuated in Philippines as Mayon Volcano erupts:In the Philippines, thousands of people evacuated the area south of Manila after Mayon Volcano erupted and authorities advised the public to stay out of the six-kilometre radius danger zone.
