- Ministry of External Affairs to organise Kailash Manasarovar Yatra with Government of China-Kailash Manasarovar Yatra, organised by the Ministry of External Affairs in coordination with the Government of China, is set to take place from June to August this year. Ten batches, each consisting of 50 Yatris, are scheduled to travel through Uttarakhand, crossing over at Lipulekh Pass. Another 10 batches, each consisting of 50 Yatris, will travel through Sikkim, crossing over at Nathu La Pass.
- Online Gaming Rules, 2026, to be effective from tomorrow-The Government has notified the Promotion and Regulation of Online Gaming Rules, 2026, which will come into force from tomorrow, marking a significant step in regulating India’s rapidly expanding online gaming sector. The Rules operationalise the provisions of the Promotion and Regulation of Online Gaming Act, 2025, aimed at ensuring user safety while promoting innovation and growth in the industry. The new framework introduces a complete ban on online money games, including those based on chance, skill, or a mix of both. It also prohibits their advertisement and financial transactions linked to such platforms. It added that violations may attract stringent penalties, including imprisonment and fines.
- India deploys Aarogya Maitri healthcare infrastructure in Jamaica-In a significant step towards strengthening India-Caribbean relations, India has deployed its flagship Aarogya Maitri portable healthcare infrastructure in Jamaica, marking a new chapter in humanitarian diplomacy and South-South cooperation under the broader framework of India-Caribbean Community engagement.
- The Rules establish the Online Gaming Authority of India as a unified regulator under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology.

- Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA) Signs 70-Year Lease Agreement for Basmati and Organic Training Centre in Pilibhit-In a significant step towards strengthening the Basmati rice ecosystem in India, the transfer of land for the establishment of a Basmati & Organic Training Centre-cum-Demo Farm at Tanda Bijaisi, Pilibhit, has been formalised through the signing of a 70-year lease agreement between the Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA), the Department of Agriculture, and the Government of Uttar Pradesh.

- The President of Vietnam, To Lam, will pay a State Visit to India from 5th to 7th May. He will be accompanied by a high-level delegation comprising several Ministers and senior officials of the Government of Vietnam.

- The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has exempted non-deposit-taking Non-Banking Finance Companies (NBFCs) with an asset size of less than 1,000 crore rupees and not availing public funds from registration and reserve fund requirements from July 1, 2026.

- India secures victory over Slovakia in ITTF World Team Table Tennis:In the ITTF World Team Table Tennis Championships, India staged a spirited comeback to defeat Slovakia 3-2 in a Group 7 match at the Copper Box Arena in London. With the win, India moved to the top of the group standings ahead of their next tie against Guatemala.
