- Bharathi Taxi-Alternative to Uber and Ola Cab services:Union Minister Piyush Goyal launches process of onboarding drivers for Bharat Taxi in Mumbai-Bharat Taxi is India’s first driver-owned ride-hailing cooperative, built as a fairer, zero-commission alternative to traditional aggregators like Uber or Ola. Operating under a cooperative model, it charges zero commission to drivers, ensuring they retain full earnings while offering commuters transparent pricing and enhanced safety features.
- Delhi: Vehicles without valid PUC certificate to not get Petrol, Diesel, CNG or LPG:Vehicles without a valid Pollution Under Control (PUC) certificate will not get fuel such as Petrol, Diesel, CNG or LPG at fuel stations in Delhi. The Delhi Government has taken this decision to ensure effective control over vehicular pollution in the national capital.
- Shekha Jheel Bird Sanctuary has been officially recognized as a Wetland of International Importance (Ramsar Site), bringing India’s total tally to 99.Shekha Jheel, also widely known as the Shekha Bird Sanctuary, is a prominent freshwater wetland located in the Aligarh district of Uttar Pradesh. Spread over an area of approximately 25 hectares (62 acres), it has gained immense national and global recognition for its rich biodiversity.
- The Union Minister of Communications and Development of North Eastern Region, Shri Jyotiraditya M. Scindia, today released the revised guidelines for the Technology Development and Investment Promotion (TDIP) Scheme of the Department of Telecommunications, aimed at strengthening India’s participation in global telecom standardization and accelerating the development of indigenous telecom technologies.The revised TDIP Scheme, with a total outlay of ₹203 crore for the period 2026–31, has been designed as a comprehensive support framework to enable Indian entities to actively contribute to global standards, promote innovation, and enhance India’s competitiveness in next-generation telecommunications technologies, including 5G Advanced and 6G.

- IN–SLN DIVEX 2026-India and Sri Lanka reaffirmed their growing maritime partnership through the fourth edition of the bilateral diving exercise, IN–SLN DIVEX 2026, conducted at Colombo from 21–28 Apr 2026. The exercise witnessed participation of the Indian Navy’s Diving Support and Submarine Rescue Vessel, INS Nireekshak, alongside diving teams from both navies-underscoring enhanced operational coordination and professional synergy.A specialised engagement focusing on complex underwater operations, IN–SLN DIVEX aims to strengthen interoperability between the Indian Navy and the Sri Lankan Navy.

- Khongjom Day:In Manipur, the State-level Khongjom Day was observed today at the Khongjom War Memorial Khebaching, Khongjom, in the Thoubal district, paying rich tributes to the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the motherland, Manipur, during the Anglo-Manipur War of 1891.
- In Jharkhand, the martyrdom day of Veer Shaheed Telanga Kharia and Vijayotsav in memory of freedom fighter Babu Veer Kunwar Singh are being observed today.
