  • The Poshan Tracker Application is monitoring over 14 lakh Anganwadi Centres and nearly nine crore beneficiaries under the POSHAN Abhiyaan. The POSHAN Abhiyaan is India’s flagship National Nutrition Mission focused on improving nutrition outcomes through convergence, technology and community mobilisation. Launched in 2021, the Poshan Tracker serves as the primary governance tool for monitoring infrastructure and service delivery.

International

  • Nepal celebrates the new year today with festivities across the country. Baisakh 1 is marked as the first day of the Bikram Sambat calendar. It is a national holiday celebrated with joyous gatherings, temple visits, and cultural festivals like Biska Jatra.
  • The United States has deployed at least 15 naval ships in the Middle East, including the aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln and 11 destroyers, as part of a blockade of Iran’s ports. The ships are currently spread across the region and may directly take part in the operation.
  • Bangladesh ushered in the Bengali New Year with vibrant celebrations today, as thousands of people across the country marked Pohela Boishakh with cultural events, traditional processions and community gatherings.

  • Country's retail inflation accelerated to 3.4% in the last month, up from 3.21% recorded in February this year. According to data released by the Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation

  • Bihar’s Deputy Chief Minister and BJP leader Samrat Choudhary will take oath as the new Chief Minister of the state tomorrow. The swearing-in ceremony is scheduled to take place at Lok Bhavan in Patna at 11 AM. He will be the first BJP leader to assume the top post in the state. The development comes following resignation of JD(U) President Nitish Kumar as Chief Minister of Bihar after his election to the Rajya Sabha recently.
