National

  • Indian Railways has approved 206 crore rupees for Kavach Deployment on 680 route kilometres of Northern Railway to enhance safety and operational efficiency.Kavach (meaning "armour" in Hindi) primarily refers to India's indigenous Automatic Train Protection (ATP) system developed by Indian Railways to prevent train collisions and enhance operational safety.
  • Astra Mk-1 Missile Deals: India signed an export deal with Indonesia for the DRDO-developed Astra Mk-1, an indigenous Beyond-Visual-Range Air-to-Air Missile (BVRAAM) with an operational range of 80–110 km.
  • Department of Posts and TRAI Launch Largest Village-Level Telecom Survey.The Department of Posts (DoP) and the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) signed an MoU to conduct a nationwide app-based survey of mobile network performance.The survey will cover more than 5.68 lakh villages and assess the services of major telecom operators, including Airtel, Jio, Vodafone Idea and BSNL.The Department of Posts will undertake field surveys through its nationwide network, while TRAI will provide the application, technical support, training and central monitoring.
  • National CAMPA Approves Four Wildlife Conservation Projects:The 7th Meeting of the Governing Body of National CAMPA was held at Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, under the chairmanship of Union Environment Minister Bhupender Yadav.
    • CAMPA = Compensatory Afforestation Fund Management and Planning Authority.
  • Union Environment Minister Bhupender Yadav inaugurated a Centre of Excellence (CoE) on Human-Wildlife Conflict at WII-SACON, Coimbatore.

  • Prime Minister Narendra Modi received a warm and enthusiastic welcome upon his arrival in Auckland, marking the start of his historic two-day visit to New Zealand. This is the first visit by an Indian Prime Minister in nearly four decades.Key Details

  • Operation Amistad has concluded successfully with the return of the Indian contingent to New Delhi from Venezuela today.   • Dilip Asbe on SWIFT Board: Dilip Asbe, MD & CEO of NPCI, was appointed to the Global Supervisory Board of SWIFT (Society for Worldwide Interbank Financial Telecommunication).
  • Indian tennis legend Leander Paes was appointed Player Ambassador of the Asian Tennis Federation (ATF).The appointment aims to promote grassroots tennis, youth participation and the development of tennis across Asia.
