- Operation Arunoday:Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu flagged off Operation Arunoday, a unique civil-military expedition to open the trekking route from Thingbu village to Bajrang Peak in Tawang district.The expedition is being jointly undertaken by the Indian Army and the National Institute of Mountaineering and Adventure Sports (NIMAS).
- PMML organises exhibition on former Prime Minister P. V. Narasimha Rao’s life and legacy.The Prime Ministers Museum and Library (PMML) organised an exhibition dedicated to the life and legacy of former Prime Minister P. V. Narasimha Rao on the occasion of his 105th birth anniversary.
- Indian Coast Guard Ship (ICGS) Akshay, a new-generation Fast Patrol Vessel (FPV), was commissioned into the Bharatiya Tatrakshak Fleet at Goa today.The Defence Ministry said the ship reinforces the Coast Guard’s resolve to ensure safe, secure and clean seas while protecting India’s vast maritime domain. It added that the vessel is equipped to undertake a wide range of Coast Guard operations, including maritime law enforcement, coastal security, search and rescue, marine environmental protection and assistance to mariners in distress.
- Roadmap for Green Urea Production: The government outlined plans to commercialize "Green Urea"—an eco-friendly fertilizer.
- Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah today announced that Bharat Taxi, the country's cooperative ride-hailing platform, will be expanded to 500 cities and towns across the country over the next two years.
- The Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority has facilitated the first commercial export of Geographical Indication (GI)-tagged Rewa Sundarja Mangoes from Madhya Pradesh to the United Arab Emirates. Commerce and Industry Ministry said .
- Union Health Minister Jagat Prakash Nadda to launch digital health initiatives on June 29-The launch includes Arogya Setu 2.0, Ayushman Sarathi Chatbot, Ayushman App, e-Sushrut Clinic, National Health Claims Exchange and health standards to strengthen India’s Digital Public Infrastructure for Health.

- The Indian Navy's Sail Training Ship INS Sudarshini arrived at the Port of Baltimore, Maryland, USA yesterday as part of the landmark transoceanic expedition, Lokayan 26.
- Lokayan 26 is a 10-month transoceanic voyage by the Indian Navy's sail training ship, INS Sudarshini. Flagged off from Kochi on January 20, 2026, the 22,000 nautical-mile expedition spans 13 countries and 18 foreign ports, aimed at providing over 200 naval trainees with intensive seamanship experience and strengthening international maritime partnerships.
- Statue of Maharishi Sushruta in Scotland: A bronze statue of Maharishi Sushruta, revered universally as the "Father of Surgery," was unveiled at the prestigious Royal College of Surgeons in Edinburgh, Scotland, recognizing his foundational contributions to ancient and global surgical sciences.

- World MSME Day is observed annually on June 27 to recognize the massive economic contributions of micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises.Global Focus: The UN and UNIDO celebrated the theme “Empowering MSMEs through Innovation and Sustainable Industrial Development,” focusing heavily on preventing the AI wave from bypassing small-scale, labor-intensive enterprises. MSMEs represent over 90% of all businesses worldwide and provide 60% to 70% of total employment. In India specifically, the sector acts as the backbone of the economy.
- Mandatory Digital Fraud Reporting: Under the newly updated 2026 Digital Payment Master Directions, the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) made it mandatory for all Scheduled Commercial Banks to immediately report any digital banking fraud exceeding ₹1 lakh to the Central Fraud Registry.

- The 353rd coronation anniversary of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj was celebrated with traditional fervour and devotion at Raigad Fort today, in accordance with the Hindu lunar calendar (tithi). The coronation anniversary had earlier been commemorated on June 6 as per the Gregorian calendar.
- Birth anniversary of Nadaprabhu Sri Kempegowda, born on the 27th of June in the year 1510.Kempe Gowda I locally venerated as Nadaprabhu Kempe Gowda, or commonly known as Kempe Gowda, was a governor under the Vijayanagara Empire in early-modern India. He is famous for the development of Bengaluru Pete in the 16th century. Kempegowda erected many Kannada inscriptions across the region.
