  • PM Modi Unveils ₹18,680 Crore Projects in Bengal: Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed a massive rally at Kolkata's Brigade Parade Ground, inaugurating several connectivity projects. Key highlights include the foundation stone for the Kharagpur-Moregram Economic Corridor and the development of eastern inland waterways to boost industrial growth.

  • Sonam Wangchuk Released: The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) revoked the detention of climate activist Sonam Wangchuk under the National Security Act (NSA). Wangchuk was released from Jodhpur jail following nearly six months of detention related to protests for Ladakh’s statehood and Sixth Schedule inclusion.

  • Conditions for Jal Jeevan Mission Funds: The Centre has set four mandatory compliance requirements for states to receive JJM 2.0 funds. These include the creation of Sujal Gaon IDs (unique digital identifiers for water assets) and the notification of State Operation & Maintenance (O&M) policies.

  • Jnanpith Award for 2025:Famous Tamil poet and lyricist R.Vairamuthu has been named the recipient of the 60th Jnanpith Award for 2025, India's highest literary honour. Announced on March 14, 2026, he becomes only the third Tamil writer to receive this prestigious award, following Akilan (1975) and Jayakanthan (2002).
