Science and Technology
1. Scientists discover unusual heat transport in crystalline material
Researchers have identified an unusual wave-like heat transport mechanism in thallium copper selenide (TlCu₅Se₃).
The discovery could contribute to more efficient thermoelectric conversion of waste heat into electricity, with potential applications in power plants, cement and steel industries, automobiles, data centres and battery thermal-management systems.
